now in season: seattle-area farmers markets

it's one of my goals for this summer to check out each of the seattle-area farmers markets at least once. we are so lucky to have a plethora of local food producers & processors, many of them organic and/or sustainably focused. but more than anything, buying local not only ensures the ultimate freshness of your food but you are also investing in the local economy by supporting the farmers where you live & eat (as well as decreasing the usage of fossil fuels to transport your food).

as a helpful resource, here's a comprehensive list of the seattle-area farmers markets (+/- 30 miles of the city), dates, and social media links. (please leave a comment if I've left one out) click here to follow our farmers market list on twitter.

better late than never ...

well hello! welcome to the new Seattle Sweets & Company blog, a space dedicated to living the sweet life, one bite at a time!

it's almost May (!) and even though SS&Co. started in January (how time flies!), we couldn't be happier with the sweet response so far! thank you to all who've been there from the beginning - you know who you are - and for those just joining us on this sweet journey.

we'll be posting a lot more information about "us", what we're all about, and where we are headed in the coming weeks. until then, just wanted to write our official first post and put "pen to paper" so to speak.

until next time,

marisa
